What is YOKE Japanese Classes for Newcomers?
YOKE Japanese Classes for Newcomers aim to provide maximum support to foreign residents who have started their new life in Yokohama but have difficulty communicating in Japanese.
This course is for those at an introductory/beginners level. The course is held twice a week and consists of 20 lessons. The curriculum helps the learners learn practical Japanese systematically over a 3 month period. The learner can take up to 3 courses.
During the course, there is an orientation that provides learners information useful to their daily lives; upcoming international exchange events; how to request a volunteer interpreter etc.
When and Where?
New courses start in April, September, and January.
Course details will be posted on the website, "Yokohama Yokohama" "Yokohama Echo", and "YOKE PIER".
Courses will be held at a YOKE meeting room.
