“Barrier-Free-Tennis Festival”

We will be holding “Barrier-Free-Tennis Festival” in 2010 September 12th(Sun) at Shimizugaoka Park Gymnasium in Minami-ward, Yokohama.

We are happy many foreign parents and children (ordinary and disabled) living in Japan to join and have fun playing our “Barrier-Free-Tennis”.
No need of experience in Tennis – everyone welcome!
Would you inform your community and their family or friend our activities.

Before the festival in September, we will hold same trial event for beforehand practice at Yokohama-Rapport (Shinyokohama).
It’s on July 19th(National holiday) 10:30~11:45.
There are some our staff who can speak a little of English at there.

We can visit your place to perform and show our “Barrier-Free-Tennis “ relieve their mind if you request us.

You can do all activities hereinbefore free at any time.

What is “Barrier-Free-Tennis”
In our “Barrier-Free-Tennis”, we use soft sponge balls, shorter and lighter rackets for kids. We’d like to share the experience of tennis through rallies; of joy and satisfaction overcoming a barrier different language.
We invented our original “Barrier-Free-Tennis” and promote it as a opportunity of “International communication” “Sports for health” “Joy and Satisfaction” “welfare consciousness”

In 2008, Nishino(President of BLACKSOX) visited local disabled school and performed “Barrier-Free-Tennis” communicated by “self-introduction” “greeting” “1 to 10” in local language.
In 2010, our staff visited Stuttgart international school in Germany and performed it.

Subsidies are intended for severely-disabled individuals who require full-time care or for caretakers of disabled children (those who reside in a care facility do not qualify). The amounts of subsidies and conditions for qualification vary according to type. Income restrictions also apply.

Eligibility: Persons whose previous year’s income was less than a determined amount or those who have difficulties making national pension plan payments due to unemployment etc.
To Apply: Fill in an application form available at your local ward office’s Kokumin nenkin-kakari, National Pension Plan Section and submit it at the same place. At the time of application, please bring ①National Pension Plan Handbook ②Seal (Unnecessary if the applicant is providing his or her own signature) ③Those who have moved from other cities, please bring documents showing the previous year’s income. ④If unemployment is the reason for application, please bring an unemployment slip, etc.

Health Consultations are available for asthma patients. ①15 yrs and above ②14 yrs and below
Eligibility: Yokohama citizens who want to consult about asthma
Limit: Total of 24 people (①3 people x 4 times ②3 people x 4 times) *First come, first served.

For the past 2 years, burnable garbage collection days in July and August have been increased to 3 times a week; however, it will be twice a week all through the year from this year. Your cooperation is appreciated.

Like to try and see what triathlon is like? Here is a chance!
Eligibility: Elementary or Jr. high school student who live or go to school in Yokohama.
Limit: 50 people *Chosen by lottery.

Swimming is very effective for people who have asthma.
Limit: 30 people *Chosen by lottery.
Eligibility: Children from 1st grade to 6th grade in Elem. school, living in Yokohama, have asthma, and can get into water by themselves.
Date&Time: Every Friday, Oct.1 -Nov.26; 17:30-19:30 *The course consists of nine lessons. *The first day will consist of a lecture given by physician.

1,500 people will be invited to watch the World University Baseball championship.
Limit: Total of 1,500 people (600 groups) ①2 children (Jr. high school student and younger) and an adult ②2 adults *300 groups/each. *Chosen by lottery.

Participants wanted for “Street Live Performance” at Yokohama Jazz Promenade held on Oct. 9 and Oct.10.
Eligibility: Professional or amateur who wants to participate in live street performance.

A High School Bands Contest, which is produced and run by high school volunteers. Come to see the performances of the bands at the finals! There will be a catwalk by high school models as well.
