New Nursery Schools that Accept Sick Children are Now Open

The following is a list of newly opened nursery schools that accept sick children. They are all located within hospitals/clinics.

High School Financial Aid Available

Financial aid is available for high school students who exhibit high academic performance (grade pint average of 4.0 and above) and personal qualities, and who have difficulties paying tuition (combined household income of 8 million yen or less). The parents or guardians of the students must be residing within the City of Yokohama.
Scholarship: According to projected availability (~180 people; \10,000 per month *There will be a screening process.
To Apply: Fill out an application form available at high schools, Information Service Section (Koho-sodan kakari) of your local ward office or download from Board of Education URL. Must apply via your high school.

“Yokohama North Youth Plaza” Opened

“Youth Plaza in the Area” supports those who have difficulties leaving their home to attend school or go to work. The new Tsuzuki location is one of three centers offering these services. Check the website below for more information.

Volunteer wanted for the 29th Port Opening Festival

Volunteers are wanted for various events at the 29th Port Opening Festival.
Limit: 100 people/day *Chosen by screening.
Eligibility: Since all the activities are being held outside, applicants 18 yrs and older (no high school students) who are healthy, energetic, and be able to commute by public transportation. Must be able to attend meetings in early May (date and location undecided).
Date&Time: May 29 (Sat), 30 (Sun), and Jun.2 (Wed); 8:00-17:00 *Time will depend on event. *Cancelled in case of inclement weather.
