This class is, beginners aimed at fully supporting foreign residents who are looking to start their new life in Yokohama. You may take the course up to 3 times (60 lessons).

Openings for the Municipal Cemetery: Memorial Green

Memorial Green is a vast, new municipal cemetery that lies alongside a large park in Yokohama. Interested residents of Yokohama may now apply for plot space.Visit the website for application information and layout of available plots http://www.memorialgreen.jp/cemetery/lawn.html

Location: Take Kanachu Bus either from JR Totsuka Stn or JR Ofuna Stn to “Dream Land”

Eligibility: Yokohama residents

Types and Fees:Individual Plaques on Lawn:
1,200 spaces, \900,000 for permanent use, \450,000 for 30 years. Management fee is \8,000 per year.

Symbol Tree Type:
Urns are buried directly under a collective lawn mound surrounded by trees and flowers. One mound holds 1,000 urns. 300 plots still available.
\140,000 for one person for permanent use. Management is provided for a one-time fee of \60,000

Memorial Type:
Urns are placed in a mausoleum-type space below ground and protected from the elements. Above ground, there is a memorial where you may offer flowers and prayers. Plots available for 1,200 people. \60,000 for use of 30 years; management is a one time free of \30,000. Contracts are renewable.

Application: Pick up the application form at your local ward office, Koho Sodan Kakari or Gyosei Service Corner(Administrative Service Corners), and write E,A,N, T.
Mail it to the post office box printed on the application form. Application period is July 15-August 15. Applications must be postmarked by August 15.

Red Brick Contemporary Art File

Parent &Child “Let’s learn about sewage” Tour

During this summer break, let’s learn all about the sewage system in Yokohama. You will also get a chance to get on board the “Hamadori” for Yokohama-Bay Cruise.
The itinerary: meet at Pacifico Yokohama →bus to your selected wastewater treatment plant→lunch(bring your own lunch)→bus back to Pacifico Yokohama for sewage system displays tour. *Those who would like to get on board the “Hamadori” for a cruise may continue the tour.
