Kanazawa Zoo: Insects Exhibition 2011

There will be an exhibition and explanatory seminars on popular insects in the zoo and the Nanohana building. Japanese rhinoceros beetles will be given away on July 16.

Special Exhibition: Yokohama Scenic Postcard

From the end of the Meiji era to the Showa era, scenic postcards were the tools to tell others about the scenery of their trip and also something people took home as souvenirs. This special exhibition shows some postcards of the Great Kanto Earthquake of 1923.

To National Health Insurance Certificate Holders

①Notice of settlement for this year’s National Health Insurance Premium will be sent out mid-June.
②Deregulation for involuntary unemployment workers: there may be a deduction of payment for those who left work after Mar.31, 2009. Notify Hoken-gakari (Insurance Section) of your ward office.
③If you are between the ages of 65 and 74, and previously were a dependent of a social health insurance certificate holder, the National Health Insurance Premium may be reduced for a certain period.
④If you relocated from one of the disaster-stricken areas of Mar.11 Tohoku Earthquake, there may be a deduction of payment.
⑤Discount tickets for swimming pools, attached on the Kokuho Dayori, (National Health Insurance Newsletter), will be enclosed in the settlement notice.

Residential Tax Payment is due June 30

The first term payment for Residential Tax (Shimin Zei) and Prefectural Residents Tax (Kenmin Zei) is due June 30. A Resident Tax Bill (Noh-Zei Tsuchisho) is mailed to the taxpayer every year in early June to be paid in June, August, October and the following January, at financial institutions or post offices. You can also pay the entire bills in June.

Kindergarten Tuition Subsidies

Subsidies of between \48,000 and \223,200 per child (depending on your residential tax submitted for 2011) will be provided to families with children who have enrolled in a private kindergarten between Apr. 1 and Jun. 1. (For children enrolled in a kindergarten after Jun.2, please apply in Nov. 2011, or Feb. 2012.) The forms will be distributed at the end of Jun. at each kindergarten and may be submitted there.
Eligibility: Those who live in the City of Yokohama.

Subsidies for Tuition for Home Helpers

Those who have finished the home-helper 2nd grade course after April 1, 2011, and have been employed and have worked for more than 3 months at a welfare facility in Yokohama may apply for a subsidy covering certain amount of the tuition costs. There are certain qualifications for this system. Please refer to the Health and Social welfare Bureau (Kenko Fukushi Kyoku)

Notice about Free Vaccinations

①Cervical cancer vaccination
Eligibility: Girls born between Apr.2, 1994 and Apr.1, 1999 and living in Yokohama.
Series of Injections: 3 times over a 6 month period.
②Pediatric Pneumococcal Vaccination and HIB (Hemophilus Influenza type B) Vaccination
Eligibility: 2-month old to 4 yrs old who live in Yokohama.
Series of Injections: 1 to 4 times depending on age
Period: until Mar.31, 2012
To Apply: Those who wish to
have vaccinations, please have a proper understanding of the purpose, effects, and side-effects etc of vaccinations and make an appointment at one of the cooperating hospitals in Yokohama.
