Yokohama City Fire Band Concert

Many winter birds visit areas around Nojima Beach. Join the camp, observe the birds, and also learn about biodiversity.

Guide to the Modern City of Yokohama

Between 1920’s and 30’s, downtown Yokohama was reestablishing the city because of the Great Kanto Earthquake in 1923. Department stores, movies theaters, and cafes were constructed. An exhibition staff member will talk about where and how all the entertainment spots and commercial facilities developed.

1. Bonsai Exhibition
Approx. 100 pots of pine, plum, maple, and other trees will be displayed as bonsai in the New Year season. Enjoy the world of nature expressed in each small pot.

2. Plum Blossom Viewing
Sankeien is known to be one of the best spots for plum blossom viewing. During the season, there will be events such as mochitsuki (rice cake pounding ceremony) and traditional mugicha (roasted barley tea) serving event.
