Memorial Tree for your Commemorative Event!

A memorial tree will be given to you to commemorate your special event. Won’t you like to apply for one to remember that special day?
Eligibility: Yokohama Citizens who would like to commemorate a special event (birth, entrance to nursery school, kindergarten and elementary school, new Yokohama citizen, employment, marriage, special wedding anniversary, longevity, new house etc)

Performers wanted for Street Concert

It doesn’t matter if you are a professional or amateur musician, participate and have your own concert on the street. The many concerts by mainly Yokohama citizens are going to be held on the long Nihon Odori (Street) at the same time!

World Sports Summit for Children in Yokohama

Come and watch “World Sports Summit for Children in Yokohama”. Children from all over the world will exchange their opinions on environmental issues and world peace, and then assemble them into a proposal. You may also meet the participants over a buffet lunch!
Eligibility: Students between 4th and 9th grade, and who also participate in a sport.
Limit: 100 people chosen by lottery

At Disaster Prevention Center: Let’s think about children’s safety

Come and enjoy! There will be a concert performed by the Yokohama City Fire Band, a ladder truck ride, and a short play about children’s safety and criminal prevention. There also will be a police car and fire truck on display, along with booths provided by Yokohama City businesses.

For Hamakko and out-of-towners alike! (Interpreters available). Get to know Yokohama! The guided tour will start from either JR Sakuragicho, Kannai, or Ishikawacho Stn or from Y 150 Red Brick site. *Interpreters are available for the following languages: English, Chinese, or Hangul.

Parent-Child Summer Event: Be Explorers

A walking-exploring tour through the modern architecture of Yokohama City, sponsored by the Museum of Yokohama Urban History. Begin at the Kanagawa Prefectural Museum of Cultural History, and walk to Zou-no Hana Park. Sites regularly not open to the public will be specially on display for this tour. *Tours will be conducted in Japanese.
Limit: 5 groups/tour
Eligibility: Elementary school or Jr. High school students and their guardians
