There will be a lottery held for placement on a primary waiting list to fill vacant apartments. These apartments are designed to provide a safe environment for senior citizens over 60, including barrier-free amenities and an emergency call services.
*There is no nursing care. *Housing will be available in the case of a vacancy between July and December.
*An income-dependent rent subsidy is available.
Eligibility: People over 60 yrs old, who are living or working in Yokohama at the time of application.

To those who have acquired the Home Helper Certificate Grade 2 at one of training institutions associated with the city of Yokohama, and have continued to work for more than 3 months at welfare facilities in Yokohama, subsidies can be provided to cover part of the tuition paid to acquire the Grade 2 Certificate. Admission system to Kanagawa public high schools will change from the academic year 2013 entrance examination. The changes will be applied to 2nd graders of Jr. high school and younger as March 2012.

The first term payment for Property Tax (Koteishisan Zei) and City Planning Tax (Toshi-keikaku Zei) is due Tuesday, May 1. A Property Tax Bill (Noh-Zei Tsuchisho) is mailed to property owners in mid April to be paid at financial institutions or post offices. You can also pay the entire bill in May.

Financially disadvantaged families with elementary and/or Jr. high school students enrolled at Yokohama City Schools may be eligible to receive financial assistance to help cover costs for items such as school supplies and field trips.
To Apply: Notice for this assistance will be given out from school to all students. Read the notice carefully, fill in the enclosed application form, attach all the necessary documents and submit it to the school.

Each ward office is lending out radiation detectors for individuals who live within the ward. The reservation for May 1-July 31 use will start at 9:00am on Mon. April 23.
Eligibility: Individual resident who is 20yrs and older. One kit per family.

From April, there are some changes in holiday emergency dental treatment: Totsuka ward is no longer available and Kanazawa ward has shortened its operating hours.
