Goodwill Ambassadors wanted for participation in promotion activities for Yokohama and other public events.
Eligibility: Those who are 18 yrs or older by April 1, 2010 and live or have foreign registration in Yokohama at the time of application. Participants must be able to attend 40 activities a year, including some overnight trips, and must have basic knowledge of tourism, history of the region and familiarity with the municipal government of Yokohama. Those who can communicate in a foreign language are preferable (foreign-national participants must be able to converse in Japanese).
Limit: 3 persons

Municipal Libraries will be closed from Dec.29-Jan.3, 2010 for the New Year Holiday. All procedures regarding E-Certification at ward offices will stop after 5:00pm on Dec.25 (Fri) and all day on Dec.28 (Mon) for renewal of the Public Certification Service System for Individuals operated by the Local Authorities Satellite Communications Organization. *The period from Dec.29-Jan.3, 2010 is the New Year holiday. ①Garbage and Recyclable Items Collection Schedule
*No collection from Dec.31-Jan.3. *Please confirm the collection timetable for the New Year holiday at your designated pickup area after mid-Dec. *Please observe the rules and take your garbage to the collection site by 8:00 on the morning of the designated collection day.
②Oversized Garbage Reception Center
Open Mon-Sat including holidays from 8:30-17:00 *Closed from Dec.29-Jan.3, 2010.

It is accessible all year around; however, applications made from Dec.29-Jan.3 will be replied to after Jan.4. *Please note that pickup dates may not be set till Jan., so please plan ahead.

Apply when discarding TV’s, air conditioners, refrigerators, freezers, washing machines, and dryers. There are 3 toll free reception numbers, and the schedule for the new year holiday is as follows:

A loan of \70,000 is available for students who are planning to enter high school in April 2010. The student’s guardian must be a resident of Yokohama to be eligible. Income level restrictions apply.
