The City of Yokohama is taking various action against the risk of emergencies
caused by earthquakes, typhoons, terrorism, infectious diseases, etc.
To hold damage to the minimum in the event of occurrence, however, it is
crucial for each and every resident to have a proper awareness of the dangers
and to be prepared for them at all times.
We would like to ask the foreign nationals residing in our city to refer to this Manual in making such preparations for earthquakes and other disasters.

Earthquake Disaster Information Center for Foreign Residents in Yokohama

●When?

　We will set up a ‘Yokohama Disaster Headquarter in case of any major earthquake 　
　(above intensity 5) upon request from Yokohama City Hall.

●Who?

　Set up and run by the Yokohama  Association for International Communications and
　Exchanges(YOKE)

●Where?

　It will be set up inside the Yokohama Association for International Communications 　
　and Exchanges (YOKE) (Pacifico Yokohama).

●Duties of the center

　・Translation of necessary information relating to the disaster for foreign residents.

　・Arrange and dispatch interpreter volunteers to individual evacuation 　
　　shelters.

　・Assistance for foreigners regarding any inquiries and consultation.  

　・In addition, provide smooth support on necessary matters for foreign residents.
